Modifying TrackerOffice folder security
WARNING: Setting folder securities improperly can lead to the inability to create/manage items in your projects. If you have any questions about specific settings, please e-mail us before you make changes. Never remove the Tracker Administrator as “Owner” of any folders!
Some folders can be secured to prevent unauthorized access. For example, an internal employee management (HR) project can be used to maintain employee information. You can secure this folder so unauthorized users cannot view the contents.
You can manage folder permissions from an Outlook client that is logged in as a TrackerOffice administrator. Open the folder pane and push in the pin. Open the public folder view and navigate to the TrackerOffice folders. Right-click on any folder, then select “Properties” and select the “Permissions” tab.
You will see a pull-down selection bar marked “Roles.” Each role carries with it a number of pre-defined security settings. You can start with any role and modify the specific settings individually if desired. You can select the roles to see what specific settings are changed by each role.
