Frequently Asked Question

Subject: Forms Cache Corruption in Outlook 2003 cached mode
Status: Publish
Category: Tracker Office
Request Type: Tracker Office 2.2

Microsoft has a hotfix that you can request directly from them that has fixed the issue with Cached mode in Outlook that required us to publish the forms to your public folders.

To request the hotfix:

Contact Microsoft Support and describe the problem that when using an Outlook profile in Cached mode, the custom forms do not properly download from the Organizational Forms Library, and mention that another customer has received the Post Service Pack 1 Hotfix mentioned in KB 839647. They should send you a download link with password.

Until the Post Service Pack 1 Hotfix is applied, Outlook profiles must be configured so as NOT to use Cached mode.

To make sure Outlook is not in Cached Mode:
From Outlook, click Tools > Options
Click the Mail Setup Tab
Click the "Email Accounts..." button
Select the "Veiw or change existing email accounts" button
Select the profile to change. Usually this is "Microsoft Exchange Server." Click "Change..."
Deselect the "Use Exchange Cached Mode" checkbox.
Click the "Next > " button.
Click the "Finish" button.
Click the "OK" button.
TrackerOffice is based upon custom forms that may not work properly when Outlook is configured to use Cached Exchange Mode.
