The Error msg: "Error posting data" indicates that the error occurred while posting the data from Exchange to the SQL server. The action required: "Please review the posting log" means a Tracker - Administrator should navigate to the Tracker - SQL posting folder and look at the log file which is stored there for more substantial details about the cause of the posting error. To view this log: 1. Right click on the Tracker - SQL posting folder and select properties 2. Select the Agents tab (if the agents tab is not visible, please see the Microsoft Knowledge base article: <
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q201/6/18.asp
>)
3. If the agent with the name of "Posting" is not selected, then select it and press the "Edit..." button 4. Press the "Logs..." button 5. Scroll down to an entry with a timestamp which closely matches the time referenced in the above error message. 6. Read the details in the log; the entries should provide troubleshooting guidance. 7. You have two options:
a. Reject the report and have the user fix the report. This may be necessary, for example, when the user selects a project which is later deleted or archived prior to the report submission and you do not wish for time to be charged against this project.
b. Fix the problem then attempt to repost the report. To repost the report, move the item from the folder it is stored in (usually the Exceptions folder underneath Tracker - SQL Posting). This can be accomplished by right clicking on the item and selecting the "Move to Folder" option and select the "Tracker - SQL Posting" folder.
If you are unable to resolve the problem please cut and paste the applicable parts of the sql posting log out and send them to bugs@trackeroffice.com along with any pertinent details.
