Frequently Asked Question

Subject: Make a project folder hidden and secure?
Status: Publish
Category: Tracker Office
Request Type: Tracker Office 2.2, Tracker Office 2.3

1. Create the project as usual.
2. From a workstation which is logged in as a Tracker - Accounting group member, open the folder view pane and click the pushpin to keep it open.
3. Navigate down to the Tracker folders, and open the projects folder.
4. Right-click on the "HR files" folder and select "properties."
5. Click the "Permissions" tab.
6. Set "Default" and "Anonymous" to role "None" but do not turn off the "folder visible" option for them.
7. Click the "Add" button and select the "Tracker - Accounting" user group.
8. Set "Tracker - Accounting" to role "Owner."
9. Remove any other users listed, except DO NOT remove or change "Tracker - Administrator" from "Owner." If you do wish to remove the "Tracker - Administrator" group from access to this project, then we will not be able to access it for time sheet routing, or other internal TrackerOffice functions. However, it would still work as a stand-alone document store, and items such as calendar and tasks would function only within the project (cannot be mailed to a user).

To propagate these permissions to the sub-folders, you will need to run the Exchange Server Administrator.
1. Navigate down to the folders, and select the "HR files" folder.
2. Click on the properties button on the toolbar.
3. Click on the "Propagate these properties to all subfolders" option then click the "apply" button.
4. In the dialog box that pops up, de-select all options, except select the "Client permissions" option then click the "OK" button
