Frequently Asked Question

Subject: How can I make the TrackerOffice Desktop (or other folder) my default startup folder when I start Outlook?
Status: Publish
Category: Tracker Office
Request Type: Tracker Office 2.2, Tracker Office 2.3

In the shortcut properties, go to the end of the "Target location" text box and add:
/select "outlook:\\Public Folders\All Public Folders\Tracker - [SITENAME]\Tracker - Users\[USERFOLDER]"

SITENAME = The name of your TrackerOffice site as configured during your installation.
USERFOLDER = The name of the TrackerOffice user folder. When you are at the TrackerOffice desktop, open the Outlook folders pane and it will show you the current user's folder.

If you would like to use this link to return to the TrackerOffice desktop at any time, you should do two things:
1. Place it someplace easily accessible such as the Quick Launch bar or at the top of the Start menu.
2. Add the "/recycle" switch in the "Target location" text box so only one Outlook window is opened (otherwise it will spawn a new window each time you click it).
You will need to modify your Outlook shortcut and add a switch, or create a new Outlook shortcut with this switch. On some computers it may not be possible to modify the shortcuts created automatically during the Outlook/Office installation, in which case you will have to create a new shortcut. See the Windows help if you are not familiar with creating/modifying a shortcut.
